Club Rules
Club Rules
Below you will find our collection of club rules and etiquette that we politely request all students adhere to when attending class.
Apparel
Any brand, branding, color, or design is permitted. Insignia from other academies is permitted.
We do not require our branding.
A rash guard or shirt must be worn under the gi jacket.
Garments with pockets are prohibited.
Please refer to the class guide page specific details on appropriate attire.
Health and Hygiene
Rings, necklaces, watches, and dangling earrings are not permitted on the mat. Piercings that cannot be easily removed should be taped down before class.
All training gear must be clean and dry. Gear must be washed after every class.
Nails must be trimmed.
Do not attend class with an open wound or if you are unwell.
Mats must be mopped after every class.
Training
Minimize the risk of injury to your training partner and yourself at all times. Match your partner’s intensity. Train hard, but remain in control and composed. Apply every submission with care and control.
Perform the technique as taught and complete every assigned repetition. Cutting the drill short takes practice reps from you and from your partner.
Cross-training is encouraged. Train anywhere and with anyone you can.
Membership
Only members in good standing may train. This includes, but is not limited to, regular classes, open mat, informal sessions, and seminars.
Every student, including members, visitors, or drop-ins, must sign a liability release before training.
Kids
Kids are not to be left unattended in the lobby area. If accompanying a parent or legal guardian during an adult class, they must be brought to the mat area.
